Guest j.w. Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 good evening folks;i always have a slight dampness on garage floor due to tranny leak.i used the transmission sealer(qt) added to the transmission but didnt seem to help.I took the car to my mechanic-he checked all the lines etc, liones were fine.He did say this was the nature of the beast-they are now to slightly leak transmession fluid all the time.He also showd me -i think it was a diaphragm with a weep hole and he stated this is where the fluid is leaking out of(the diaphragm was from another vehicle). He stated he could do all this exotic work, sending out for parts etc but he didnt seem to think it was worth all the time and expense.does anyone have similiar experience or another fix ??thank you
old-tank Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Maybe a picture will help, since I don't know what you are referring to with the term 'diaphragm with a weep hole'.If it is the outer torque ball retainer (originals had a boot) at the back of the transmission, that is an easy and effective fix.Willie
