Have hauled many cars and still had room for supplies.
RWPerry
I depends on what you are hauling. I have a 24' because I use it for everything from my 1925 DB Coupe to a 1940 Packard. You want to have room to easily do the tie down straps as well as room for a spare tire and other stuff. You also need room to position the car for good weight distribution to get the right hitch weight. A 4 cylinder engine vs. a straight 8 makes a lot of difference on how far forward it can be relative to the trailer axles. I actually put marks to tell me where to stop the front wheel for each car so that I get a good hitch weight. Of course, you do have to balance all this with maneuverability. If you are only going to be hauling one type of car then, of course, the shortest one that still works well for that car would certainly be easiest to handle. JACK M
I will work out of mine on occasion. Its a 26 ft with cabinets and a generator that runs on a drawer affair to get it out of the box. (it will over neat if I run it for very long when it is inside of the cabinet)This allows me to run a compressor and fluorescent lights as well as outside lights.A tool box on bolted to the bench beside the vise and I can do most jobs. One cool thing that I can do is pull my quad thru the side door even if there is a car inside.I have found that no matter how much storage you have you wish you had more. (Not just trailers, but shops, barns and basements as well)
kevin b
Thanks for your input. I think I have found a very nice 20 foot with the 9900# rating. I think last year I had told everyone I was going to drive my 28 vic 6 sedan to Detroit meet. Well not to be . I will be trailering. The marriage will last longer that way. I do get my way sometimes. Im going to get a trailer out of the deal which I have wanted for a while. It is the car that is all important right?
