Pete Phillips
I need to drop the gas tank and clean it out, on a 1935 Ford passenger car, but cannot figure out how to separate the tank's filler tube (which goes through the rear fender) from the gas tank. I've gotten it loose, but cannot pull it out from the tank. What is the secret? Can anyone help? Thanks. Pete Phillips, Leonard, Tx
DavidAU
Wish I could help but I'm not sure. If you don't get a reply here try on the Early V8 section of the Fordbarn. plenty of people there who will know.http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=
Pete Phillips
After two days of trying, I finally figured it out. The lower portion of the filler tube is threaded into the gas tank, and will unscrew from the tank, while the upper portion remains stationary.Pete Phillips
Pomeroy41144
You need some reference materials. Plenty out there. Don't forget to dig out the old lead washer and replace with a new one.
