I need to track down & find out what year my engine is, are there resources out there to use and research? What I have is: 06h-6049-b2Thanks in advance, Joe
John Murphy
The number you published is a cylinder head part number. If you look on the other head you will find the part number 06H6050. Lincoln did not use "engine numbers." The heads listed were used in 1940 and 1941. 1942 thru 1948 were listed as 26H and cast iron. Measuring the cylinder bore should give you an approximate year of manufacture. 36 thru 39 are 2-3/4,40 and 41 are 2-7/8, 42 was 2-7/8 and 46 thru 48 were back to 2-7/8. Get your mechanic to measure the block bore. That should give you your approximate engine age.
