sftamx1
I am doing some work on a friends 1956 Special Convertible. I have a shop manual on order, but until then, maybe some one can give me some up front advice! I need to remove the factory wonder bar radio for servicing. I looked up under the dash, and this thing looks like a real bear to get out! Anyone accomplished this before? My next question concerns the convertible top...it goes down fine but really struggles to get back up....very slow. What should I check out on this problem? Thanks for any help! CarlLaFong
I truly believe that most cars from the 40s and 50 started life, on the assembly line, as a radio on a stick. The car was then assembled around it
JohnD1956
That radio will come out the bottom. It is engineered to be tilted and pulled out once the bottom hits the carpet. Well, not really, but I just got mine out a few weeks ago that way.
