Guest my3buicks
I was traveling on Interstate 90 in NY today and passed this little number, then found it sitting in the parking lot at the rest stop when I came out.

Curti
Is the Daytona a Shelby or a separate make that I have never seen?
joe_padavano
It is a replica of one of the six (actually seven is you count the one that was completed years later) Shelby Daytonas. This one is a Factory Five replica.

alsancle
There is something about replicas that make me think of iPhone pictures of the Mona Lisa. Some are better than others but they are still copies of someone else's original art.

If I were going down that road, I would choose an ERA or Everett Morrison 427SC Cobra with a real side oiler and top-loader.
A. Ballard 35R
Head to the Simeone Foundation in Philadelphia and see the real thing. Fortunately, it has not been restored and has a fascinating history.
joe_padavano
I'll never own the Mona Lisa or one of the six Shelby Daytonas. More to the point, you wouldn't take either out on public streets. A replica allows you to both look at it and drive it. I find that much more enjoyable than going to a museum.
Guest my3buicks
I can say it was very impressive to see it on The road and sitting dirty in the parking lot, real or replica.
keiser31
I'll bet it is impressive to drive, too!!
