Guest j.w.
hello folksi always had trouble starting the car on cold engine.I had my mechanic give it a complete tune-up ie points, rotor, condensor, dist cap, wires plugs, ignition coil. The following day it started great, ie pressdown on accelerator and then it starts-no pumping required. the day after and the next 3 days it would not start,it turns over but not starting(battery sounds strong). I had to have it towed on a flatbed. the next day the mechanic attempted to start it with no problems !!,same thing the following day-it works great for the mechanic !!. any ideas as to what may be the solution to this problem ?? thank you
Pete Phillips
Choke improperly adjusted or not choking down at all?
JohnD1956
... buick840
Maybe a loose or broken wire in the distributor? Contacting enough to start sometimes but vibrations could cause it to loose connection. ASK ME HOW I KNOW
Bhigdog
Next time it won't start see if you have spark. If you do it's fuel, if not it's electrical. ..................Bob
