abelincoln
You need to crawl under the car and ascertain if the trans is in lockout or not. If the lever is forward, trans is locked out, and acts like a simple 3-speed. Hook up the cable, and push the lever on the OD to the rear position. car should drive, but will be in free wheeling under 22-24 mph. Now, use your schematic diagram. When the car exceeds 22-24 mph, the governor should ground out the supply wire which causes the solenoid to energize. There is a driven pall inside the trans that is spring loaded and that wont let it shift until the gas pedal is let off. If your relay and wiring are OK, car will shift into OD. Before you start, check the fluid levels. Overdrive has its own fill hole. Most problems are electrical. Look for broken wires, missing connections, blown fuses, etc.Abe Edited July 31, 2013 by abelincoln (see edit history)
