Guest Texas Old Car Guy
Today is Henry Ford's birthday - he would have been 150 today. Here's a nice writeup about how he changed the world:http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-07-29/it-s-still-henry-ford-s-world.htmlFred

John_Maine
We really enjoyed visiting the Edison-Ford Estates in Ft. Myers last February. I was there 40 years ago and wanted to see it again. We spent the whole day and found it very interesting. We paid the extra fee to have an interior guided tour of the houses and spent a lot of time in the museum. When you think about all of the things Edison (and his staff) and Ford invented, it is truly remarkable especially considering neither was very well educated. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when they went camping with Harvey Firestone and President Harding!
5219
Many years ago, I read a biography of Harding. The book said that he was appalled by the ignorance and bigotry displayed on the camping trip and declared that he would never go back. Ford was a great historical figure, but a despicable person. Dave Mellor NJ
I remember sending away for and receiving a promotional model of a 1932 Ford Victoria from Ford Motor Company in 1963. This was to commemorate Henry's 100th Birthday. All you had to do was go into any Ford dealer and apply for it. I wish I still had it. My Dad had mostly all Fords so I probably would have turned into a lover of the blue oval anyway but I believe that model confirmed me.
