Went out last evening to find my mirror (the black housing) cracked BIG TIME. Didn't wanna risk not finding part, so hit ebay, found one, and it'll be here in a few days. I DO have a FSM, but moved and haven't been able to locate (still looking). Seems fairly simple to R&R - any tips????

Your lucky if the vent window wasn't broken too.

Pretty easy too R&R. Remove inner door panel.

Couple of screws hold inner mirror mount cover on.

Couple of bolts thru vent window and an electrical connector and it's out.

Can always get access to a FSM here:

It appears that you have a 1990 convertible. Before you begin make sure you have the correct mirror. The correct mirror for a 90 will have one plug. Early cars had a double plug. They are not "all the same"

Rather than splicing, the terminals can be removed from the plastic connector shell(s) and reinstalled in the correct connector if you have the wrong version.

I've done this before, the metal terminals have a catch that can be released with a paper clip or pick. Just follow the color code and terminal positions to match the existing harness. Keep in mind that the driver's side has two extra wires due to the heated mirror, not present on the passenger side.

Just a suggestion to keep it cleaner.
