Guest
Am seeking information about the 1907 Jewel, made by the Forest City car co. I am new to this forum so do not know the protocol. I am a volunteer in a local museum and want to write an article about our 1907 Jewel. Thanks for your help. Jerry Lenz
Guest
According to "The New Encyclopedia of Motorcars" "For 1906 and 1907 this make offered only a two-seater with a 2-stroke, single cylinder engine of 8hp. During these years, the make was spelled "Jewell". In 1908 the Jewel 40 was introduced, powered by a Rutenber engine of 4 cylinders and 5.8 litres. Roadster and seven-seater touring models were mounted on a chassis of 10ft wheelbase. The Jewell was replaced by the Croxton-Keeton."<BR>My Grandfather drove a Croxton-Keeton in 1908-1909 in Winnipeg as a taxicab.<BR>Happy hobbying
