brake adjustment help

R front wheel drags against brake shoe. My '41 Shop Manual says "insert .015 feeler gauge between brake lining and drum" in order to do adjustments.

I cannot understand how to do this. Please help.

I'm asking where the feeler gets inserted since the backing plate covers the drum - and I think I need the drum in place to make the measurement - or am I missing something? Obviously I'm an amateur, but I can usually follow written instructions; this one got me.

There should be a square opening slightly larger than a typical feeler gauge width in the front of drum. On the 47 drum it is covered by a folded over tab of metal which almost looks like a squashed in wire clip. The clip pries out to uncover the opening.
