Aussie Dodge
Hi Guy's Does anybody have any idea of a current color equivalent for the pin strip color on a 25 Dodge Tourer? My car was built in August 1925 and possibly had the body fitted in Australia. I am reasonably sure the current paint work is original. The body is dark blue, fenders are black, disc wheels are also black. Both the body and the disc wheels have a 1/8 inch pin strip. The original pin strip color is now a chalky off white, however I have been told is was most likely a creamy yellow called "Cartouche Yellow". Can anybody advise if this pin strip color is correct and also can anybody advise what would be a today equivalent color or paint code. All information gratefully appreciated - Regards Aussie Dodge. FMF
I have been trying for years to obtain more information on cartouche yellow. I was told its a pale yellow but have not been successful getting a paint formula.
Aussie Dodge
Thank you for your reply 1925 DB Coach. Yes I feel it's going to be a challenge to find the right color. I have experimented with different shades of yellow and while some look good in the blue body, the same color looks out of place on the black wheels. Thanks for the tip I will try lighter colors - Regards Aussie Dodge.
FMF
There is a '25 DB Special in the Gilmore Car Museum, Hickory Corners, MI that appears to be an excellent restoration (which includes the pinstripe).I've been unable to get them to photograph the pinstripe --- not sure it's the correct color but it sure looks great from the photo. Aussie Dodge
Thanks Guys, your information is very helpful. Wow what a fantastic restoration. If Australia was a little closer I would certainly like to pop into the museum and see the Dodge first hand. The picture looks great and helps with an idea of the correct pin stripe color. From the photo the stripe is much lighter than I was considering. Thanks Again for your assistance - Regards Aussie Dodge
