Nice Original 1941 Ford Coupe. Ready to Use and Enjoy!

Recommended Posts

1941 Ford Coupe. This is a super solid and mostly original car. It was purchased by the previous Kansas collector in about 1970 and has been kept and maintained in his collection until last year. It is believed that this car spent the bulk of its life in Kansas and as a result is a very nice and original rust free car. The body is very solid and straight throughout with nice floors, trunk pans, etc. The doors, hood and trunk fit well with even gaps and margins throughout. The lower body panels show no signs of damage or repair. The car was painted and upholstered prior to him purchasing the car and it it likely that the car has had only one repaint from original. Today, the paint shows signs of use but is generally quite clean and presentable with an even gloss and a great look to it. It has that nice "gently used car glow" that is certainly attractive and period looking. The period-style cloth upholstery shows some signs of wear but is still quite presentable and certainly matches the rest of the car. The interior door panels show some staining but the headliner is extremely clean, taught and fits the body well. The carpets appear to be newer replacements. The glass appears mostly original and is intact and the windows roll up and down as they should. The dashboard has a great look to it and all of the gauges are nice and clean. The original steering wheel has some small cracks but is certainly usable or easily restorable. The trunk is original with excellent trunk pans showing mostly original paint. It has the correct spare tire, jack, etc. The chrome and stainless is in very presentable original condition and shines well. The engine is a desirable 59AB flathead V8 and runs and drives as a good flathead should. It starts easily, idles well, does not smoke and makes plenty of power. The transmission and clutch are smooth. The brakes and steering are nice and responsive. The tires are older but remain in good condition. The chassis and engine compartment appear largely original and in well preserved, original condition. All of the gauges, lights, and accessories work with the exception of the radio. The car has Ford script fog lamps, bumper guards and a spotlight. Overall, this is a nice and clean prewar Ford V8 that can be used and enjoyed in its current condition. The price is a reasonable 17,000.00 and the car is located in Jefferson, WI. and, of course, is being sold with a clear title.
