Guest hiyudon
Does anyone have a lead on where to get a rebuild kit for a '42 dodge d22 coupe? I tried oldmoparts.com, but they don't carry their kit at the moment. I think it would include the bearing, felt pieces and brushes? Thanks,Don
jpage
I'm not aware of any "rebuild kit" available for these Mopar generators. Best bet would be to take it to a rebuilder that does older generators. Chances are many "older" shops may have parts in stock. These generators are pretty common.
nickelroadster
Check with a rebuilder for brushes . Many will sell you parts. Often times you can find the bearings at an industrial supply house. Most times they can match it up with a better bearing than it originallly came with.
Guest Commodore
What is the model number of the generator you have? There are two different versions used. Auto-Lite Model number GDZ-4801A and GDZ-4801B. A brush set is available for both. Standard Motor Products EX-57, but the bushing is only available for the GDZ-4801B. Standard Motor Products X-4278. startergenrebuilder
Rebuild kits are sadly becoming a thing of the past. I don't carry a "rebuild kit", but would more than likely carry any part you need to repair the generator. Let me know if I can help you out.-Jason
