Dodge Generator Rebuild Kit

Does anyone have a lead on where to get a rebuild kit for a '42 dodge d22 coupe? I tried oldmoparts.com, but they don't carry their kit at the moment. I think it would include the bearing, felt pieces and brushes?

I'm not aware of any "rebuild kit" available for these Mopar generators. Best bet would be to take it to a rebuilder that does older generators. Chances are many "older" shops may have parts in stock. These generators are pretty common.

Check with a rebuilder for brushes . Many will sell you parts. Often times you can find the bearings at an industrial supply house. Most times they can match it up with a better bearing than it originallly came with.

What is the model number of the generator you have? There are two different versions used. Auto-Lite Model number GDZ-4801A and GDZ-4801B. A brush set is available for both. Standard Motor Products EX-57, but the bushing is only available for the GDZ-4801B. Standard Motor Products X-4278.

Rebuild kits are sadly becoming a thing of the past. I don't carry a "rebuild kit", but would more than likely carry any part you need to repair the generator. Let me know if I can help you out.
