Guest LINCAB4041
I need some information on the spark levers on the 1928 dictator 6. When I start the engine, seems to have a lot of drag on the starter. Like an engine that the spark or distributor is not correct. I checked the point gap and it is set correct at .020. Also gets hot at times. Is there any information on how to set the two levers on the steering wheel so the spark is correct. Should the engine be started with the levers both in the up position and then move them later as it runs or should the engine be started with the levers down. Thank you for any help. Mark Huston
Start the engine with the spark and throttle levers in the down position. When the engine catches advance the spark lever and throttle lever fully to the top position.

Would like to know what the Close level actually does. The Advance lever advances the spark on the distributor by turning it. But have not known about the Close lever. Thanks for any information anyone may share.
