Guest shadetree77
So I know I said I'm trying not to go to as many car shows this year so I have more time to work on my OWN car but.....this one was an accident. I swear! I went to NAPA to try to find a longer stud for my manifolds and lo and behold there was a sizable car show going on in the parking lot. It was sponsored by the local car club called the "Empty Pockets Car Club". Man....I need to join that club. I've been a "member" for years!! Anyway, no Buicks at the show sadly but I did see a car that reminded me of one of our own here on the forum. Enjoy!
Guest shadetree77
Saved this one for last. Rob, this remind you of anything? Maybe something that followed you home recently?
Guest Rob McDonald
Thanks! So that's what they look like, all put together...I'm trying to get my new garage organized and today hung several fluorescent light fixtures that came with the property. Haven't wired them yet but they look potentially illuminating. I finished vacuuming the other half of Saskatchewan out of my Valiant and sort of pawed through the front suspension parts. Maybe it's hard to tell when things aren't attached to the car but I didn't find any parts that need more than cleaning, painting, and reassembling. The tie rod ends, idler and pitman arms, and ball joints all seem tight. I have no clue how to put the torsion bars back in but the shop manual will make that clear, I'm sure.I've sent the hood, trunk lid, and front fenders to a shop for media blasting and stripping and next week will take them to a body shop, to have a coat of epoxy primer shot on. I'm debating completing the tear-down and having the whole body tub stripped and primed. It's probably the right thing to do, to get me started on restoring this car. I'll then know what to tackle, as I teach my self how to cut out rust and weld in new metal, with my $20 garage sale MIG welder. Am still looking for a $20 compressor that can keep up with an angle grinder, sander, and paint gun - not all at once, mind you.
