Guest reatta_ross
Well before i go tearing stuff apart, I figured I would ask first. I stopped at the auto parts store yesterday and asked for a fog light for a 89 Reatta. They told me they couldn't get them anymore, that it was a part in there "grey" area. So my question is, Is it just a bulb or do i have to get the whole assembly? Or is there a close match on a different make of vehicle that will work. Or, any aftermarket lamps that will fit nicely? Barney Eaton
If your fog lamp is not damaged/broken and the only problem is it is not lighting, the bulb is replaceable. You unplug the connection and the bulb twists out counterclockwise. (all this done from under the car) The old bulb will have the part number. I am not were I can give you a number for the bulb. Bushwack
I created a bulb number chart for the exterior. It applies to all model years and includes coupes and convertibles. You can view it here and/or download it for future reference: http://www.reattadriver.com/images/RDVendorsParts/Reatta%20Exterior%20%20Bulbs.pdf.pdf
padgett
Note those 8xx bulbs are minature halogen and getting hard to find. Also the fog light bulbs are only 27.5 watts and don't do much (better as a DRL). Problem is a hotter light will melt the housing. Need a cold light.ps I've been using Silverstars in everything for years, even made an improvement on my '12. Ronnie
The ACDelco 881 fog light bulb can be found here. A chart of all exterior bulbs needed for the Buick Reatta, as well as the bulbs including SilverStars, can be found here: Buick Reatta Headlights & Bulbs
ptt
Are SILVERSTARS a direct replacement for headlights or do you need any wiring upgrades? Thanks.
padgett
I just plug em in and go. The main difference is a 55w low beam instead of a 37.5w (stock) so is a bit more load on the headlamp circuit. OTOH I have had them in the Blue 88 for over a decade with no problem.
Guest hopair
I've found 3 bulbs matching fog lights #881..... 1) 881, 2) L881, and 3) 881L. Are these interchangeable? Thanks
