Remove the lower verticle portion of the window channel or the vent window assy. Disconnect and remove the window regulator, then rotate the window 90 degrees and lift out. If the window has a curve to it you may not have to rotate it.

Some later windows have bolts or rivets through the glass that have to be removed

This is general advice for all cars, (I 'm not sure what a 65 Special is)

(I 'm not sure what a 65 Special is)

A Buick Special is an A-body - a Skylark with different trim.

To the O.P., it would help to know WHICH four door this is, a hardtop or a post sedan. The window removal process is different. More to the point, get the proper factory manual(s) for your year, which will have the correct removal, reinstallation, and adjustment procedure.

For the front door you need to remove the vent window and attached forward window track. For the back door I think you need to unbolt at least one of the tracks, perhaps both. Again, this is where the specific info for your car in the service manual is needed.

Rear window came out easily. now i just need to find the correct outer dew sweeps. Plenty for 2 door skylark. Hopefully the book will tell me that they are the same. Plus mine is a 4 door.

Are you asking if the 2dr and 4dr sweeps are the same? Not even close. The doors (and the sweeps) are different lengths. Post and hardtop sweeps are different also. Steele Rubber lists the inner and outer sweeps for a 4dr sedan, but from the photos they appear to be the generic ones with the round (as opposed to oval) chrome bead. If you don't care about that, you have a source.
