Hi

Its my first time here, and my first experience with Buicks.

My friends wife's dads car has just emerged from storage and I thought I'd put up a few pictures.

As you can see it will be a fairly long term project.

Hmmm, i hope these are not too large.

Anyway, here are a few more.

Over the next while, i may be asking for advice, but for now, just sharing photos, enjoying reading all your stories and learning about these cars.

There seems to be no more than surface rust in or under this car, it has never seen a salted road.

More pictures from underneath when we eventually get it on a hoist.

Just one more for now.

By way of introducing myself, I have played with old cars for quite some years, & have a science / engineering / electrical / computers background.

My wife says I have too many old cars and my friends say i drive them too hard. :) ... anything built can be repaired, as long as it is used as intended.

G'day Dave.

Nice to have you aboard.

What part of N.S.W do you hail from ?

It looks like you have a great start to a project there.

Nice to see another Holden bodied Buick here. Be warned that there is not much from a Fisher body that fits a Holden body so be wary of buying parts in from the states.

Best of luck with it and come back if you have questions.

Danny

(P.S Just because we live down under doesn't mean you have to put the nose badge upside down :) :) )

DaveB,

Boy-o-boy, what a find.......

Welcome aboard. Science and computer back ground you say. I bet ya can't hit F5 and bring this one back to new.

Your going to get dirty on this one, but the ride will be wonderful......Please post pictures as you go along.

Lots of help here on the forums, from all over the world and "down under" too.

Hey Danny, your green light is on. Know your lurking, and you caught the inverted badge. Nice touch. You beat Grant.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks.

The car is in inland northern NSW, near Tamworth.

it spent ~40 years near Grafton I believe.

The front bumper is still there, under a house, waiting to come up the (Great Dividing) Range.

As Ben says, its a clean her up and drive proposition, that is the owners brief, with stabilised distressed paint.

So it'll be a thorough going over of the mechanicals, probably engine out / brakes / suspension rebuild.

Apparently it 'ran when parked' :) but had engine bearing noise.

We havent even tried to turn it over yet, barely managed to open both sides of the hood during our brief visit.

It will be an adventure, I'll post pics, but don't hold your breath.

Seeing this inspired me to go have a look at a few of the body tags I've kept.

I love how on the second tag they made no attempt at all to try and stamp anything in a straight line.

Must have applied the 'She'll be right mate" policy.
