Fitted Classic trunk

I have a friend who has a fitted trunk seemingly from a large Classic car from the early 30s. He would like to sell it but first it needs to be identified. It doesn't need a rack as it fits right to the back of a sedan whose tail piece sweeps back. It has a notch on the left for a fuel filler. There aren't any visible markings on it but it looks like a potter trunk. can anybody help?post-66242-14314191036_thumb.jpg
