Here are an overall and a cropped-down copy of a cool old car I saw yesterday (Sunday afternoon, May 12th, 2013) out on the road.

I followed this one on a Southern Connecticut state road for several miles, and only was able to get a partial side view when he finally turned off on a side street.

The plate reads “BIG - 8”.

Anyone have any idea what kind of car it is?

That design in the center of the rear bumper, and also, of course, the hub caps, I am sure are good clues...

Wow, cool, thanks guys! The car seemed to maintain healthy speed w/o any problem along the roadway.

I was only asking, by the way, from curiosity--I don't know the car nor am I trying to track it down or anything like that.

Just curious as to what it was that I saw.

Thanks again!

1930 Marmon, tail light is exact, hub caps match. Nice to see the big Marmon out getting some exercise. My 1929 Graham-Paige 8 has no problem with 60 mph, and with the big brakes set up right, I can lock all four wheels up on pavement so stopping is not a problem either.

None of my pictures came out great, but here's one more image from my rushed photo-taking efforts (as I drove along behind in my modern car).

It was definitely cool & exciting to see the big old sedan out there cruising right along!
