Guest buickhenry
Recently I saw in an Aug. 01 Cars & Parts magazine that the 53' "s is 7". I knew that the Skylark was lower than the other models but I didn't how much. Is 7" correct?
Guest martylum
Hi-I'm restoring a 53 Skylark and found in the Buick parts book information that the chassis is the same as used on a 53 Roadmaster convertible. So I wouldn't think the ground clearance would be any different. However the overall height is lower because the height of the windshield posts is reduced by, I'm told, 5"Martin Lum53 Skylark
Guest buickhenry
Thanks Martin. Over 20 years ago I had a set of springs made buy Coil Spring Specialists and my 53 measures 9". I have a couple of friends here in the K C area with a 53 Super and a 53 Roadmaster. I'll have them measure there cars. If you look at the National Geographic ad it looks like its at about 5".
