89TC-16V Posted April 23, 2013 Share Posted April 23, 2013 i contacted stabilus US and found out i can get a new one of these from them for $44.20 each and would take 4 weeks. i have the part number and all from them, i figured if i was going to order it, maybe a few guys wanted to order them and i could have them make them all at once and ship them to me and i could distribute them to you guys. let me know. i need one of these damn little things to hold the compartment open as the 2 i had both the seals went on them Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Chrysler has several locks for 89-91 vintage vehicles and needs VIN # to get right ignition lock TC column, $17 is a great price but it's the wrong lock. Digger914 Posted April 23, 2013 Share Posted April 23, 2013 (edited) I'm sorry, looks like they don't carry it any more, good news is they now carry trunk struts. I got mine at a place called Fleet Farm it's a local store with a good selection of gas struts, I carried in the old one and found a compatible compressed length with the same size shaft and moved the screw off shaft cap to the new piston, full extension was about a half inch shorter, I paid around $25 and it was considerably less than the parts geek price at the time. We'll have plenty of struts and other items along.Besides parts available at the meets, we do free adjustments like throttle body cleaning and horn lubrication and distribute materials from prior TC America newsletters I have done articles for. Plus antenna, speedometer, door post, accumulator, and accessory repairs/installation demonstrations for fellow TC America Club members who are registered for the full event. I'm bringing a video from MotorWeek that explains the ABS system that so many of ours cars have issues with if not maintained properly.See you Sunday! TCParts Posted May 9, 2013 Share Posted May 9, 2013 That's the advantage of having 180 of these cars - they were all hand built so no two are the same and it is easy to pick out the production changes/improvements along the way. The later built TCs used the better working, higher pressure, slightly longer strut which held the hatch open fully and did not need the operator to "pull up" on it to open.
