2249 senior engine part

I found this brass/bronze seal block in a box with my other 2249 engine bits; it was made in two parts with groves for seals in both side as well as the half circal for the crank shaft, there is no number or mark on it. Is it a 2249 engine part?

Hi gundog99 that part is the lower half of the rear main seal for the 2249/2251 senior engine

This is a reproduction part as the original was pot metal or similar and usually fell apart

Somebody here was talking at one point about re-producing them, I cannot remember who that was. Several years ago though

Thank you .I was hoping it was a lower half of the rear main seal block. This part was made a long time ago, probably be for WW11, in Australia; I would be very surprised if this was a one off ,More photographs today.

I think this originally was made for another engine and then converted. 132.64 mm x 35.78mm x 67.25 mm
