Guest Steven W. Hosac
Hello all. I purchased this Studebaker Commander when I was 14-yrs old. I will be 68-yrs old in June. Drove it all through my high school years in Boise, Idaho. Has not run, and been in storage, since about 1963. Great antique Studebaker, but needs full restoration. Is currently located in Boise. Pictures taken last year when it was moved are attached. I suppose it's time to think about selling it. Kids arn't interested, don't have time for it, etc. Missing: Rear bumper & one spare tire cover. All else there; I even have the "original" ignition key.I do not know what it is worth, and would appreciate any advice on value, etc. from Forum Members. Expressions of interest welcomed. Thanks in advance.Steve H.
Guest ChampionJohn
Sir,I would love for someone with more knowledge than I to weigh in on what the price should be for a car sight unseen. I am extremely interested and do not want to take advantage of you or be taken advantage of in any way. I already have a '41 under complete restoration, but your car is one I would hate to see slip away.John
Guest Steven W. Hosac
John,Thanks for the note. I still wondering if i should sell it; maybe the kids will have some interest some day. Let's see if I get some advice/edeas on value, or if you have any thoughts, send them on. Let's stay in touch. Thanks again for the reply.

starlightcoupe
We would like to think these beautiful survivors are of more value than your ubiquitous run of the mill '57 Chevys but...in its current condition, one cannot expect to get more than $9000, unless the purchaser drove to his honeymoon in such a just specific vehicle.1933 Studebaker Commander 73 Regal 4 Door Sedan Value, Prices & Specs | NADAguides | NADA 1933 Studebaker Commander 73 Regal Book Value & 1933 Studebaker Commander 73 Regal Market Price
Guest Steven W. Hosac
Starlightcoupe,Thanks for your reply, and your thoughts on value. I hope others in the Forum will also express their ideas of value. Better understanding the Commander's current value will help me to make a decision whether or not to sell it. By the way, when I was in College, I owned a '57 Chevy 2-door coup, with "three on the floor." Really a super nice automobile. I sold it in the '60's for $250. Wish I still had that one too. Thanks again,Steve H.
starlightcoupe
Unless you are in need of the money, this is a beautiful design and a solid example; perhaps in need of some upholstery. It is worth much more than it is worth on the market. If "the kids" are to become interested in its retention, the kids need to ride in it a lot, see the response from others on the road, appreciate its originality. It has lovely lines. slowjim
Steve, Your car definitely has beautiful lines and looks to be in good shape. I have a 31 Commander that proved to need more work than I could do, so I am getting it restored in a small shop near St. Louis. Your car appears to be more in my level of work needed. If you do decide to sell it, please let me know. It may be a great father & son project, as long as my wife doesn't kill me for starting another project. Guest Steven W. Hosac
Jim, Thanks for the note. I'm in the process of restoring the Studebaker now, so not thinking about selling it at least for now. Good luck with the restoration of your car.
