52_Special
Hello,I researched this and could not find the answer I was looking for. When I dropped my gas tank I noticed that there were two heavy gauge felt pads between the body and the gas tank. They were obviously not reusable. I understand that purpose that these pads serve in minimizing friction. My problem is that I don't know where to find an adequate replacement. This doesn't seem to come up on the radar very often as the only ones that came up on a Google search were for Mopar cars. What could I use to insulate the gas tank from the body? </SPAN>
packick
Chris:Right or wrong, I used neoprene gasket material for mine. I used the old ones as a template to cut the correct size. Seems to work just fine.
Bhigdog
Rubber sheet works good or if you wish to be "more correct" use 90# roofing felt. Seems a bit much to buy a whole roll for 2 strips. I prob have some around if you want to pay the postage.................Bob
52_Special
Thanks Joe! Just needed that good direction. I checked Lowe's and they have a 6"X6"X1/8" rubber sheet for $1.90 that I can cut to size.

Guest shadetree77
I bought a rubber strip that is used for sealing the bottom of a garage door at Home Depot and cut it to size.
