A factory A/C car with the single carb 425-cid engine, it's finished in my favorite 1965 Buick color, Midnight Aqua.If it had the beautiful cornering lamp assemblies, it would strike me as just about perfect!Buick : Electra 2 dr hardtop in Buick | eBay MotorsThe favorite by far of the ones I've owned was my '65. It was the same color as the one on Ebay, but no vinyl top and mine was a 4 dr. Also my seats were green cloth. I remember the foam headliner didn't last long as my son was young at that time. He looked at a red LeSabre convertible with dual exhaust first, but ultimately decided on the Electra. My sister had just gotten her license and I can vividly remember riding with her when she dropped off her boyfriend. She always put it in Low and laid down twin streak of rubber a good ways up the street when she pulled away. Good memories...When I started my search on Ebay for a '61, it took several years before I found the one I ultimately bought. My brother-in-law and I had a great time on the 1700+ mile round trip to bring it back. It's been a great joy to me to get it running and finally to the point where I could drive it. The only thing I like on a '66 over a '65 is the tail section. Much cleaner looking and putting the gas fill cap behind the license plate was much better than having it between the taillights. Guest Doug Burton Posted April 23, 2013 Share Posted April 23, 2013 Actually according to the paint code it is sun valley cream and arctic white, but 52 years have taken their toll. It has a little over 60,000 miles on it and while North Dakota doesn't use salt on their roads the other elements have surely not done it a lot of good. Plus the seller used a power washer on it prior to taking pictures of it for ebay. A lot of the paint flaked off on the roof which is why it appears so dark.Next time I get it out I will take some better pictures of it. All I have now are from the ebay auction. I did make a video of it not too long after getting it home which can be seen here: It's not the greatest video, but it does show off the car pretty well. I have replaced the bad hood hinge as well as done a lot of work to the car since then, but since I haven't done any body work, it still looks the same. I have it here in my heated garage and I work on it when I have something new to work on or parts to put on. I'm retired now, so work is slow, but I do what I can when I can.
