Guest BJM
1915 BuickLooks like there are some good extremely rare parts hereThis is a 1915 C-37 that has been made into a pick up. This is a parts car, dosn't run, been sitting outside forever.
Pete Phillips
It astounds me what is still "out there". A 98-year-old parts car, with what looks like a 100% complete engine and drive train. Absolutely unbelievable!I just sent a copy of the listing to Dean Tryon who does the newsletter for the 1915-1918 Buick group. Jake, thanks for spotting this.Pete Phillips
Dandy Dave
I tried to email the owner and the mail just keeps comming back undeliverable. No phone number or anything else posted for contact. I would have went after that car if the E-Mail would have only gone though. All the parts would fit my car. $1,500 is almost too good to be true for that pile of parts. I believe the posting may well be a scam. Dandy Dave! Dandy Dave
West, I tried you this evening but you were already gone for the day. I sent you an e-mail. Will try tommorow during the day between an appointment and other stuff. Thanks so much. If this works out, it will be a vantastic parts vehicle for my 15. Dandy Dave! Dandy Dave
I found out that the car and seller is legetimate. Sorry for doubting, but without a phone number in the ad, and e-mail that did not work it had me wondering. He is one of us and a Model A Ford enthusiest. Oh, and do not bother the fellow about the 15 Buick because I have already secured the parts car. It is comming home to me in the near future to live with the Chartreuse Lady and hopefully donate parts to keep her alive for many more years to come. I have deleted the other post and I hope it has not caused anyone any hard feelings. Dandy Dave! Guest Rob McDonald
I'd have bought it and got it running, just so I could watch that awesome valve train do its marvellous dance. Good on ya', Dandy Dave.
Dandy Dave
Parts car? Restore it as a pickup I just might do that. I'll wait until I get it home and see if it is mechanically sound enough to make a determination of whether to go forward with such a project. Maybe it needs axles??? Rear end gears??? Bad Clutch??? Who knows why it was parked. It will take a small fortune to redo the wheels and get tires on it if is sound enough to turn into something cool. Dandy Dave! Marty Roth
Where was (is) the "Pile of Parts" located?Maybe we can help you get it??
Dandy Dave
It is in California in the San Francisco Bay area Marty. I've made plans to pick it up. Even though it is a long trip, I just could not let this go by as you know how priceless these parts are to guys like us with these early cars. The trip costs are nominal compaired to having the parts, or even if it turns into another project. I'm just dazzeled that it is so complete for a nearly 100 year old vehicle sitting outside in brass car country. Dandy Dave! Guest Texas Old Car Guy
Dandy Dave:Nice find! I've often commented to my wife that many old cars were "running when parked" and for some possible minor reason wouldn't start later so they gave up on it. It could have been something as minor as a 50 cent part like a condensor gone bad in the distributor but since it wouldn't run they abandoned it and let it deteriorate.Enjoy the trip to retrieve your prize!Fred
Dandy Dave
The car is now home with me and what an adventure it was. To put it into perspective, I think the old girl may be worth repairing. There is enough good stuff to do it. The fellow kept handing me pieces and tools. Looks better with some of the stuff on it and around it. Dandy Dave!
