Guest Fleish
After starting the car, and once the engne gets out of the closed loop, the temp gauge goes to max.The engine hot light does not illuminate. The onboard diagonostics indicate the temp is normal at an Edata-04 reading of less than 130CI understand 150 C is max and will illuminate the hot light. All cooling system parts have been recently replaced.Any and all thoughts and ideas welcome. Thanks
Guest Mc_Reatta
With diagnostics showing the proper temp, sounds like this is a problem between the BCM and IPC. Might try disconnecting the the IPC, cleaning the contacts and reconnecting. If you had a spare IPC you could swap out to see if problem is in there, but not a failure mode I've heard of before. Any other issues with the IPC displays?
harry yarnell
My concern here is "all cooling system parts have been replaced". Is it possible that it's airbound? Needs to be burped?I had a similar condition recently when I removed the radiator and condenser to replace the A/C compressor. I reused the coolant (looked good), but wouldn't take the two gallons I had removed.... but the coolant was up to the radiator neck. Running the vehicle, and the temp gauge was at full circle ('90). It finally settled out and I got the rest of the coolant in.There's supposed to be a pin hole in the thermostat for the system to air bleed; it's possible that hole is clogged; I never opened it up to check. YMMV.
padgett
Thought I replied to this: just what was the ED04 reading ? (130C =266F). Mine is reprogrammed to run cool so stays beteen 82-85C (180-185F) warmed up & moving and may go to 190F at a stoplight.
