vicpanza
Hi folks:I just pulled the gauges out of my 1937 Dodge MC pickup truck, and am looking at replacing or restoring. I have some resources to make vinyl graphics for the face plates (or silk screen), but am in need of some good artwork. Might anyone have artwork in PDF or other format that they might share or sell? I need the graphics for all four gauge face-plates, and interested in anything else you might have. Have located two NOS gauges, and might just go ahead and buy them, but still interested in doing as much restoration as I can.ThanksVic Panza1937 Dodge MC1946 Dodge WD-211950 Studebaker Champion convertible
jpage
Is there any lettering or details left on your faceplates? Usually the graphics shop can rebuild the details on the computer with a little work, at least that's what they did with mine!

Usually the graphics shop can rebuild the details on the computer with a little work, at least that's what they did with mine! The hash marks are still there (on the outer edge of the face-plate), but the rest of the plate is virtually white. I have a graphics guy who can recreate this, just thought I would ask if anyone has it handy before investing more time in having the artwork reproduced. Once I have the artwork, my face-plates will need to be stripped and painted, and then the lettering and hash marks reapplied.ThanksVic
Guest DodgeKCL
Are '37 MC gauges the same as '34 and '35? This is a scan of my '35 KC(L) dash cluster.
vicpanza
Thanks, but 1937-38 gauges ate different. They clustered all four gauges in one can, and the speedometer in another!
jpage
You wouldn't neccessarily have to paint the face plates and then apply the numbers. Have the entire face printed on the correct color paper and just apply the entire decal. Saves trying to line up those little hash marks. That's what I had done to mine. Guest DodgeKCL
I looked up a photo of 1937 gauges before I sent in the post and they should be the same as my KCLs. The gauges you describe are for a 1938 RD.
Guest DodgeKCL
Just curious as '36 and beyond is out of my league. I looked up 36/37 before I sent in the scan and the Dodge Pickup book gave me this drawing which shows the same guages as my '35. The guage setup you describe is shown in another drawing marked as '38 (RD). Is the book incorrect or do you per chance actually have a late '37 RC with '38 guages? vicpanza
The book you are referring to is incorrect. The gauge arrangement is the same in 1937 and 1938 (honest). That drawing in the Bunn and Bronell has caused a lot of confusion. What you show above should be labeled 1937-38. The three gauge arrangement is 1936 only in this era.ThanksVic
countrytravler
YEP! That book is wrong on the dash info.Did you get your gauges?

vicpanza
I have what I need. I had an extra set of gauges that I was restoring along side the original sets, and broke on of the glass plates for the speedometer. I was hoping to get both sets restored and sell one. The folks over here that can make the artwork for me are just too expensive, and it would not be practical to have the number plate made. So, will probably just sell if in pieces and put the broken plate in and let the next owner deal with it. Have a nice set for my truck. You have a flat number plate for the 37-38 speedometer laying around? They're easy to restore, and would may my spare gauge set complete.ThanksVic
