sandtrooper
Here are two cast brass pieces with MAXWELL BRISCOE named. Anyone take a guess if they might be original or what purpose they served. They look a little suspicious. They are about 12 inches long and almost 9 ounces in weight. ....thanks in advance. sandtrooper
*Those are flattened out sill plates (where you step into car) and they are legit. #circa 1905 I'd guess as Tarrytown outfit burned down in 1907.*...credits to Andy Blake of Maxwell-Briscoe group#my findings Edited March 27, 2013 by sandtrooper (see edit history)
TheMoneyPit
The quality of the castings looks a bit rough to be original - I'd guess they were modern reproductions done to fill in for a very rare pair of originals.
Layden B
I agree with TheMoneyPit, no wear marks and no screw holes for fastening either.
