Hey you guys I have a 1990 Buick reatta with a blown motor . Yes I know very sad....im going to cut to the chase and just say I need to get a new car asap or I will loose my job with state parks. I am open to trades .the Buick is a fair shape. very clean body no rust ok paint .interior is fair. brand new alternator .tires have full tred.i want this car to go to a COLLECTOR not a junk yard. If I had the $$ I would keep her but I cant afford it at the moment. I have the paper work from the day she was born and every doctors apt haha. I am open to advice as well.

Welcome to the forum newbieEl.

I suggest you post your advertisement in the Buy/Sell subforum and include a price, your location, mileage and some photos. If you would at least give a price and your location there might be someone near you that would be interested.

Also when you say "threw a rod" do you mean out the side of the block ? Also without giving a location, you are not likely to get a meaningful response but 3800s are very common engines.

You do need to give more information and post some pictures if you want to attract buyers. Location and your asking price will eliminate many phone calls.

newbieEL I would check into a motor for your car. Here's why. You may find this hard to believe but I see in your vehicle description you have a portfolio that is complete. That portfolio can be sold separately for what a good used motor can be bought for. Then you would only be out the labor for the motor swap.

That might be a better way to go then the beating you are going to take for trying to sell a Reatta with a bad motor...
