Dwight Romberger Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) I have to repack my '30 water pump. I read all the threads on it. How do I get all of the old packing out? I tried a small screwdriver, needlenose pliers, bent wire and even yelling at the top of my lungs to scare it out! What am I missing? Thanks,Dwight Edited March 22, 2013 by Dwight Romberger bad spelding (see edit history)

Brian_Heil Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I bought some old used dental tools at a garage sale years ago. Quality stuff, strong as heck and I think I paid a $1 each. Use them for all sorts of odd jobs. Even a couple tiny drills. Not as much fun as being in a ships boiler room though. When I bought my '23 Buick it was packed with a leather shoe lace. I could just see some guy fixing his Buick on the side of the road, loose boots and all.
