Kow - Panhard - Part 2 - The 50’sAfter lying dormant for World War II, Panhard came back and so did artist Alexi Kow. *The above images of our sales literature collection range from 1949 to 1952. *He continued his push for strong, dynamic looking images that push the car to show its beauty and power. The last image, of the Dyna 57, has a unique feature to which the inside flap folds up showcasing the convertible top on and off the car in a rainstorm and at the beach. *The use of an underlying illustration that converts to show the same car in a different scene is both innovative and very impressive for a piece of 4”x6” sales literature. *I couldn’t find much information on Alexi Kow outside of these works and some others that he had done for Panhard. *There is a book out there somewhere that would be fun to get a hold of, but until then I will be satisfied looking at the originals from time to time. *More...
