Guest rusty5999@yahoo.com
Have a dynaflow and trans fluid is leaking in puddles from where the torque tube bolts to the back of trans.I have pulled the tube back and put a gasket between the flanges. The seal at the back of the trans looks goodand is fairly new .The trans was rebuilt 2 years ago,and doesn't over 50 miles on it .I was told it may be a sealat the torque ball bad or with the lip of the seal turned backwards. Pete Phillips
If it was rebuilt two years ago and has done that much sitting, it could very well be the seal at the back of the transmission, even if it looks good. IF the torque ball seal wasn't replaced when the transmission was rebuilt, it could very well be that, too. YOu can get a torque ball seal kit from CARS, Inc. or Bob's Automobilia.Pete Phillips, BCA #7338Leonard, Texas
Guest rusty5999@yahoo.com
Ok will do,that should be easy.I have talked to Bob and cars inc and have ordered from both, easy and prompt delivery.First I have to get the 6 to 12 v converson kit worked out, wrong coil and module for distributor.I told him what I neededand we talked for 15 minutes about it and he repeated back the info he wrote down.Kind of frustrating .Thanks for the info ,I'll let you know how it goes when I get into it. Bhigdog
A few folks have been very dissatisfied with the seal kit from one of them. Just sayin...................Bob
Ben Bruce aka First Born
I think the kits come from the same manufacturer. CARS is a MR Gasket kit. Ben
Guest rusty5999@yahoo.com
So which one would be better?
old-tank
If yours does not already have the vulcanized outer torque ball retainer, get one from FATSCO since Bob's will charge $50 deposit. I had problems with one from those New Jersey boys ( the identifying feature is the zinc plated outer torque ball retainer --- others are plain steel ) http://forums.aaca.org/f162/transmission-leak-231604.htmlWillie

Guest shadetree77
Another place to get one would be from David Edwards at Antique Automatic Transmission Parts US. That's where I got my Dynaflow parts. He's very knowledgeable and did not require a core charge.
