1936 D2
Very nice concept idea. Well done CGI video! ("Watch this brave a Chinese couple hover around the city in the first (computer animated) test drive of this Volkswagen concept car. Definition: Concept Car: A vehicle made to showcase new styling and or new technology. They are often shown at motor shows to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not have a chance of being produced.")Here is another of the three winning VW concept cars. This one is an actual driver though. ("With systematical lightweight construction and perfect aerodynamics the XL1 gets 261 miles to the gallon, making it the most fuel-efficient eco-friendly production car in the world.")https://www.youtube.com/tv?vq=large#/watch?v=0fLTAZOzPjkHere is possibly the third VW winner: ("This five-seater car runs on compressed air, has zero pollution, very low running costs and will cost about $15,000.")https://www.youtube.com/tv?vq=small#/watch?v=ztFDqcu8oJ4All in all, I like this one. Supports the hydrogen economy... GM Hy-Wire "Car of the Future" Edited March 19, 2013 by 1936 D2 (see edit history)

JACK M
I saw this video a couple of weeks ago. I doubt it would ever work. If the technology interacts with the minerals underground how did they go over that bridge? D2s links don't work.
R.White
I be willing to bet we wont see any of them in this country in our lifetimesAccording to the accompanying blurb, the hydrogen car demonstrated by a very youthful looking James May (otherwise known as Captain Slow) was first exhibited at the Paris Motor show in 2002. GM hoped to have it in production by 2010. I expect the economic downturn probably put paid to such plans but even so, the cost alone would probably have made it a bad investment for GM. Hydrogen being the most common element it seems inevitable that one day it will be in common usage. Unless, that is, the boffins master nuclear fusion. Or even dark energy!Ray.
