Cumberland Island Car Graveyard

Recommended Posts

Over the summer we visited Cumberland Island off the Georgia coast. There are no roads to the island and one generally takes a ferry. The island is famous for being a National seashore and one of the most underdeveloped lands in the US. The Carnegie family built a mansion and series of building there from the late 1880s through about 1950 at which point it was given to the Fed and declared a Nation Park. Since getting things on the Island was difficult, most things never left. While touring the ruins of the main mansion, we found this graveyard of old cars.
