yirgaman
This is a Shutterstat and it's function is to operate the shutters in the front of the radiator. It is filled with a gas that causes it to expand and contract with heat to move the shutter arm back and forth. If it has stopped working, the shutterstat needs to be taken out of the housing and sent out for repair. Other forum members may remember the name and address of a fellow in Georgia (USA) who still rebuilds these things....Around $300 each.Larry
