KDirk
Oh Brother! Lucy should've taken away the Reatta just like she used to do with the football. How'd that old song go, "Charlie Brown, He's a Clown! Why's everybody always pickin' on me?" Bust up a car like that (and after that atrocious paint job), and expect to be picked on.What a waste. Guest RaverReatta
Mc.,Sad but true.John F.D: Well.... I certainly would never do that to my Reatta. I'm proud of it and I like to take a different approach than most people on the forum. How can we ever expand our horizons if we don't do what hasn't been done before? Although my idea is still in progress and it doesn't look fantastic yet, I plan to do everything thoroughly and professionally over time. I don't seek to be the envy of other owners or collectors, I just follow my dreams and not let myself be limited to what is already out there. It's actually kind of a put-off to this forum hearing someone say "Sad but true" to something I take a lot of pride in... I can understand poking a little fun, but maybe think before you say something like that..? DAVES89
RaverReatta while I am not sure what your final look will be I have decided to take a wait and see attitude. A couple of things you are doing I have not seen before [like taking the dash panel and using it for a spoiler] and your use of PlastDip. However I have a friend that runs a body shop and he just got in some PlastDip products and is pretty excited about it. So let's wait until we see what you do with your "mule" and then we can comment. Either way we all win, you make the car you want and enjoy, the trailer queen people will be happy that there is one fewer to compete with and the daily driver people will be able to utilize the parts you no longer need. Guest RaverReatta
I appreciate that!As soon as I came here I said to myself, "You just bought a $550 Reatta that is oxidized and water damaged, you're young, and you want to do something nobody else is doing, you're probably going to get some serious criticism for all three of those", but I still haven't changed my mind. I have liked the Buick Reatta since I was 13 years old. Back then I thought it was a rear-wheel drive car so I would draw pictures of Reattas drifting and fixed up in showrooms. Later on I learned that they were front-wheel drive but still liked them and still liked drifting as well. When I had just turned 19 I found a Select Sixty (I had no clue how special those were when I was looking at it) for sale in my town for $700. Unfortunately, it was sold one day before I was bringing cash. After that I sought out a nice inexpensive Reatta and found this one. I saw that it was going to need a lot of work, and that it was in no shape to be a collector's car so I went ahead and brought it home that day (Mom and dad were surprised I got a Buick). After that it kind of rekindled my dreams of a "Drift Reatta". (I had also read about Rear-wheel drive conversions and knew that they were involved and expensive, but money is no objective when following a dream) So I began working out the bugs and cleaning it up, preparing it to be what I want it to be. That's where I am right now. In the future I'll fabricate my own lightweight parts, and even some aesthetic modifications, overhaul the engine, convert to a manual transmission, and have parts rebuilt and fabricated, etc. I might even consider becoming a vendor of sorts and make Reatta performance parts at request. Granted, not many people are interested in Reatta "tuning", but it never hurts to offer a unique service to anyone who might be interested. To put it short, I'm a young person who is a Reatta enthusiast with an unconventional idea and a plan to do what makes me happy. It may be odd, but I really appreciate the people who support me and help me out here on the forums, and I like sharing what I have to offer. I love my car! Guest tb3
sorry, old thread, I know.but I am doing some searches and came upon it. I assume those are early 90's Pontiac SSEI wheels?Makes me wonder how they'd look on my grey Reatta with black honey combs instead of the gold. Ronnie
I had black honey comb wheels on my Fiero Formula and they looked pretty good on it.

Blue90
Hey Ronnie,How did you ever fit in that Fiero?S.
Ronnie
Fitting in it was not to hard. I was able to bend a lot easier back then than I can now. What was bad was finding enough room for my feet once I was in. That and lack of power steering were the two reasons I got rid of it. Other than that I loved that car.
