gr8scott
I never use the cigar lighter, so it was only when I plugged in the GPS that I realized i had a fuse problem. Popped the cover open, pulled #4, a 20Amp fuse, and sure enough it was busted. Now comes the weird part. When I replaced it with a new one the headlights popped up -- didn't turn on, just popped up. Attempts to close them down with the dashboard "Lights Off" button failed. When I removed the fuse, they closed. With the #4 fuse removed the headlights operate normally from the dashboard. These should be unrelated, but apparently they're not. It's a head-scratcher.
NCReatta
when you put the fuse back in, press the "lamp retract" button below your tape deck. That should fix it.
