1955 Alfa Romeo 1900SSZ found in Oregon by Simon Kidston

Recommended Posts

I wanted to include in my speech about garage finds the 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900SSZ (for Zagato) coupe that British car dealer Simon Kidston (now based in Geneve) found and spirited back to CH for sale to an Alfa buff. My question is--Oregon being a long ways from England, did anyone hear how he smoked it out? I think the same family had it for nigh onto 40 years. Also has anyone heard what the family was offering it for? Apparently restored examples with racing histories are going for over $400K, which surprised me, as it sounds like Ferrari prices not postwar Alfas but then what do I know...
