How to program an alarm button on a Reatta

So, on my 89 that I bought, it did not come with the right keyless entry button (I received some odd knockoff which does not work at all I was told it is from some old alarm system but, the way it goes off is just like the original Reatta alarm and there is no light to alert as with aftermarket units). So, when I lock the door with the power lock and come back to unlock it, it has the nasty habit of going off! How do I program a new button?

How are you unlocking it if the wireless fob is not working? If you are physically unlocking with the key, and the factory alarm is sounding off, then there is a problem in the door latch not sending a ground signal to anti-theft. If you are unlocking with fob, and the factory alarm is sounding, then the RKE box is not sending a ground signal to the anti theft module. Is the yellow security light flashing when you exit the vehicle, go solid when you lock it with the fob, and shut the door?
