Harold Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I'm posting this here as well as the transport wanted forum to increase exposure:My friend's brother-in-law lives by himself in Reno, NV and suffered a major stroke last week. After he leaves the hospital, the plan is to relocate him to New Jersey to be near family. He has a 2007 Malibu which needs to be trucked here from there. This would have to be arranged within the next week or so. Since I'm a car guy, my friend asked me to help find a shipper. Can anyone recommend a reliable carrier to do the job? Thanks for any leads.Harold
Guest GrabberOrangeBullit Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 (edited) Panther Expedited Services, Inc.I see Panther here in NJ all the time on 295 transporting luxury vehicles. Not sure if they do single car moves/may be cost prohibitive. Will say I often ride behind them for 15-25 miles at a clip and note that they are cautious drivers, in soft panel carriers, with top of the line tractors. Did you check the forum section marked car carriers? Edited February 18, 2013 by GrabberOrangeBullit (see edit history)
Harold Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 I called Panther and the rep told me they do not ship individual cars.
jim5618 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Depending on where he is in the country or how soon you need to move try Enclosed Ford Transport
Guest 37Packard Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Try Peg Trucking Inc. - Home Page out of Michigan. They have trucks all over the country. You don't need to pay more for an enclosed trailer-an open one will work fine. They did a great job transporting my '37 Packard from Mass. to KY last summer. Good luck....
auburnseeker Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I have used Passport transport twice in the last year to move my 36 Cord and 60 Corvette. They did an excellent job. Both were enclosed, when I talked to the driver he said they also have several open trucks. They might be worth a shot. Both were Coast to Coast transports.

Guest Miah3p Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Hi there, I'm Miah. I work for a transport company, and although we mostly transport vehicles to shows, we often do single car moves. A 2007 Malibu would be fully insured, as well as more affordable on an open carrier. I can have it picked up within 72 hours, if it's ready now. Feel free to call me for a quote, or email me. I need the delivery city to accurately give you a rate.I'm very sorry to hear about your friends brother in law. I hope he's okay.(954)651-9895 is my direct line. My email is Miah.Park@shipyourcarnow.com

51dyno Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Snowbirds would use a driver service to drive their car while they flew to their destination which was much cheaper than transport.
sbardin Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) I recently used Nationwide Transport Svc's.Shipped a 77 Ford PU from Davenport,IA to Hawaii with no problems. My friend here used them and just shipped a 52 Henry J to west coast and a 34 Ford coupe (CA to HI)no problems. You pay deposit when they pick it up and not before and you pay the driver the balance upon delivery.Laki is the guy that helped me and kept in contact with me from start to finish. His direct line is 954-603-1936.A+ service and They were reasonable. Harold Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 Thanks to you all for your responses. I've forwarded names and telephone numbers to my friend and he will take it from there.
Guest daytona Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I have used Intercity as well, they are top notch, and their prices are very good. I would not use a shipping broker, you will end up with a thousand emails and phone calls with prices higher than Intercity and some of the shippers seem a little off to me. Just my experience...Martin
sbardin Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 (edited) Martin. Granted Intercity is good and enclosed and well worth it for a collector car. When I need my 77 Ford PU transported they was a 2 week delay and they were $400 more than the carrier I used, also I did it with 4 emails and 4 phone calls.Vehicle was picked up in 72 hrs. Guest Courpekt Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) In a couple of months I will also need to have my car shipped, if anyone had their auto transported from NV to NJ or vice versa and remembers the cost, please write. Here is a car transportation company that my friends dealt with, so I'm also thinking about ordering their services. Edited August 21, 2013 by Courpekt (see edit history)
