Guest lightning
My dad just got me a sweet 1959 ford f100 for my first car. There it is before its most resent journey homeHere it is at home. It sure sounds good but it has no brakes so we will have to fix that before we can drive itThe ultimate goal is to make it a show truck but that will take several years. Do you guys have any ideas on what I should do. Edited February 18, 2013 by lightning (see edit history)
John Byrd
Neat truck, congrats !! I had a blue and white 58, and owned and drove it several weeks before my wife told me one of the tail/brake lights didn't work. After taking off the lens, we discovered it was a reflector and never had but one light from the factory ! These trucks have been ignored for years, but almost anything is available for them, good luck, and hope you enjoy it as we did ours, John
Guest lightning
Thanks. On that taillight. Was it the right that was a reflector or the left. Because my right does not work
Guest GrabberOrangeBullit
Love it! Nice first ride. Considering a more vintage looking rim?
Guest lightning
Not for a while But maybe later on
John Byrd
Hey, Lightning, seems like it was the right-hand light. Easy to check, though, there are the same fasteners, then when you remove the lens, a blank hole !! Speaking of the vintage "rim" look, we put some 8 x 15 Wheel Vintiques with 40's era hub caps and trim rings on several of our Ford trucks (the 58 included) and they looked perfect ! John Byrd
Hey, lightning, just type in "vintage ford parts" on Google, any of those should have what you need. Classic, LMC, Dennis Carpenter, others are there.

Guest luxetransport
Nice car, you can change its head light & fix some new model. For it you can search on Google, there you can get lots of options for your car.
Guest lightning
Hey guys. I found a power disc brake conversion kit on lmc for my truck and was wandering what you guys thought.
Guest lightning
If I install a power brake booster will I need different wheel cylinders. If so were can I get them
F&J
I have installed many boosters on early/mid 60's chevy pickups that have drum brakes. There is no need to replace them if they are in good cond. A booster will be fine without discs, unless you are hauling overweights or towing heavy trailer loads.
