Guest Shoe1932
Okay guys, Ding dong here ran out of gas in my 1932 - 67. How do i add some gas into the carb to get it to fire again. Down draft carbs are easy. Up drafts are not as easy. All advice is welcome. Thanks
Dave_B
Shoe,I take the cover off the float bowl on the '28 and fill the bowl with gas. Dave
Mark Shaw
Shoe, You can also pressurize the fuel tank with 2-3 psi after you fill it up. That will push gas through the mechanical pump and fill the float bowl without cranking until the battery dies...
FLYER15015
Carry a can of "spray start" (either) with you.It will get the car to fire enough to bring some gas to the carb.Mike in colorado
jscheib
If not too dry in the lines, you can use a hand atomizer to spray a bit into the carb after the air cleaner is removed. But I usually can crank up at spring start-up. Hook uo a fullt charged second battery also, if necessary.John
Guest Shoe1932
Well guys, i pulled the air filter and put some starting fluid in the carb and she fired up on the second try. Got it running in time to go to a dedication for a new neighborhood playground. Went with my friend David Spence who had a 33 50 Series. I have attached some photos (or tried). Hope they go thru. Thanks fort your advice.

Barney Eaton
I once made a gas cap with a tire valve fitting soldered into the top (where the vent was)You attach the "special" gas cap to a bicycle hand pump and install it on the filler, pump it a few times (depends on the level of the fuel) and it will force gas into the carb.Starts like it was parked yesterday.Where were you Round Rock guys Saturday (3/2) I think I was the only stock pre-war car at the Dell Diamond Mustang sponsored show. Terry Richards was there with his 1954 Skylark and I had the '39 Century......the only Buicks there. Guest Shoe1932
BarneySorry I missed the Dell Diamond show. I was at that neighborhood park ceremony and that took up my whole day. I would love to get our Buicks together at the next show. Sometimes I am hesitant to take one of our cars to shows like the Mustang show. I figured that they were gearing toward Mustangs and muscle cars. I cant always make as many shows as I would like because I have a 4 & 7 year old and coach most of their team sports. We have a '32 Buick 67 and a '39 Plymouth P-8. Do you belong to a local Buick Club? I am a member of the Road Relics which is the Central Texas AACA group but dont belong to a Buick Club in this area. Email me at shoe@crcaustin.com if you get a chance. I would love to meet you at a show sometime in the near future. I know that there are a few tours with our club and also there is the Leander meet which meets 1 Sunday a month. I look forward to hearing from you.
