1935EB Posted February 11, 2013 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Below is a photo of a 1933 Plymouth door handle. My question is how do you remove the escutcheon plate? It does not "pop" off. I think the steel "rusted" piece has to be twisted off? If so is it directional, left twist, right twist, etc?Thanks, Chris Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
keiser31 Posted February 11, 2013 Share Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) There should be some small bumps on the shaft holding the escutcheon plate on. I believe that you have to grind those down in order to remove the plate. The square shaft is sort of "pinched" to hold the escutcheon on.
