Another front axle question.

What is the composition and weldabilaty of the front axle beam on my 28/29 Dictator? Cast steel, or forged.

I need to rebuild the pivots for the front brake levers that someone cut off.

Basic safety would dictate a search for another axle. May be more economical as well.

That is my first choice.

It is most likely forged steel. If it's like a Ford forged I beam alloy, they weld super nice and there are many thousands out there that have been welded, straightened, or dropped for hotrods...and they are safe.

Look up spark testing, maybe on youtube or google. That will tell what type of steel it is.
