1990 Buick Reatta

Not mine, but interesting.

1990 Buick Reatta 2 door sports car. Pretty rare car, soft top with the 3800 fuel injected engine and automatic transmission. Car runs good, would make a great car for someone. Price is $1800. If interested please call 770-963-3620. Thanks

Curious how many black/black/red 1990 convertibles there might have been?

Wouldn't know a lot about what I'd be looking at (other than it's similarities to my old Rivi) but this car is about 45 minutes from me and I'd be glad to go have a look see if anyone is interested. I think I know the yard it is at.

I had YOU in mind when I went looking in the Georgia Craigs List trying to find something to buy to put on your trailer north to Kansas City. I figured you could store at the 54 Ranch/Farm until you are ready to come northwest. I would need to sell one to make room and can't get motivated to advertise.

The only thing I would be interested in knowing - more or less - is does it idle fairly well, mileage indicated on dash, rust, do the headlamps work, most of the electronics. How are the door panels, etc.

I bought the car in Atlanta mentioned above. Drove it over 100 miles towards TN until I stopped to top off the fluids (including brake reservoir). Not familiar with TEVES system so the brake light came on and I was not comfortable going up and over the smokey mountains with the brake light on. Rented a car dolly for the rest of the way and sorted out the fluid level when I got home after having read up on the system (it came with owners manual). The car runs & drives good, most everything works and she cleaned up pretty well after about 3 washes. Joined the forum as I will be needing some assistance as I begin sorting things out. I wanted one of these new, but I was right out of college in 1990 and $35k was a nice yearly salary then, not the price I could pay for a car.

Congratulations to kminchey,

I was tempted to pursue this one myself, but a bit too far especially this time of the year. Looks like you got a good deal, as without too much, could be worth about 5x what you paid.

Glad you picked it up! I was almost fixing to load up and go buy it as a parts car, but I'm glad it's going to be saved!

Good for you!

To confirm, is it the yellow ABS light that stays on or the red BRAKE light that stays on (or both)?

Plenty of people here to help out.

Fantastic. I was considering this car. Great color combination and price can't be beat ($700 less then my convertible) . Please stay active on the forum and let us know how it's going. Back to the Driftwood coupe motivation I guess...

Man I am really glad this one was saved. Sure it needs work, but don't they all at this age (even the garage queens need some upkeep!). Just happy that it isn't being parted or scrapped. Please do keep us informed of the progress on this one, will be nice to see it brought back to proper condition. At that price, you can put together a pretty good repair and upgrade budget and still have a lot of car for the money.

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments. In response to Bushwack, they were both on until I siphoned out the excess fluid, followed the instructions and got the level correct. Still, I am going to have the system flushed and bled along with new pads. I hope to have it roadworthy within the next few months.

I'm not saying this will cure your ABS/brake light problem, but whenever I buy a Reatta, I have the brake fluid changed along with replacing the accumulator (ACDelco 25528382 Pressure Accumulator : Amazon.com : Automotive).

kminchey - great to have you on board!

You have a tremendous amount of info available to you on this Forum from participants who have many years of experience in any and all ares of Reatta M&R. Also, for starters you may want to visit www.reatta.net; Ronnies Journal at www.reattaowner.com, a compilation of various threads/posts taken from this Forum; the Reatta Resource section of this Forum which outlines some of the significant sellers of used Reatta parts.

Others may have additions to this list but it is good for starters.
