Guest denny_W121
So I just recently found out, My family and I will be headed to Scott AFB, Il outside St. Louis the end of may. What do I have to look forward to? I know we're pumped about going there. Plus I'll be closer to my friends field of dreams(cars)...lol
Taylormade
Lots of flat, flat, flat farmland. Cornfields as far as you can see. Hot summers, short, but sometimes cold winters. Plenty of activity in the antique car hobby. I think you'll enjoy it.
poci1957
The St Louis HCCA has a very popular Easter car show that you will miss this year, but your first stop can be the Museum of Transportation in St Louis, where they have a great car collection including a Chrysler Turbine Car (!) and an outstanding outdoor train collection including the Aerotrain designed by GM design in the 1950s. The Rt 66 Festival in Springfield IL in Sept has a great turnout of all kinds of old cars and there are lots of local shows. A large old car dealership, Country Classic Cars is in Staunton IL about 30-40 minutes from Scott AFB with over 500 cars for sale at all times and you can Google all these attractions to get a little sample online. Enjoy, Todd C
